- Each voice gets its own colour. Name someone once and the transcript and the summary both use the name.
- What was decided
- The main points, grouped into what was decided, what's still open, and the figures and dates.
- Who's doing what
- The actions, each with the person who took it on. An action nobody took on is marked as unassigned.
- Where it was said
- Every point and action shows when it came up. Tap the time to hear it. Long meetings get titled chapters too.

Apple Intelligence writes the summary, and it can be wrong. So nothing in it floats free of the meeting: tap the time beside a point and you hear the moment it came from. Rename a speaker and the summary follows.

What it won't do.
- It won't join a call. Quern hears a call on speaker through the microphone, but it doesn't join Zoom, Teams or Meet.
- It won't announce itself. There's no bot in the participant list, so telling people you're recording is up to you. The first time you record, Quern reminds you.
- It won't share a workspace. Recordings live on your iPhone; there's no team account or shared folder.
- It won't run on older phones. It needs iPhone 15 Pro or later for Apple Intelligence, and there's no iPad or Mac version.

Will it work for a video call?
Only through the speaker. Quern doesn't join Zoom, Teams or Meet, and it can't record a call directly. Put the call on speaker in the room and Quern hears it through the iPhone's microphone, like everyone else.
Where should I put the iPhone?
In the middle of the table, and not beside the coffee machine or a laptop fan. One iPhone covers a meeting room. At a long table, put it nearer whoever speaks quietly.
What if it gets the number of people wrong?
Tell it how many people were in the room and it looks again. You can also merge two speakers that are really one person, or move a passage to the right speaker.
Do the others need the app?
No. Only the person recording needs Quern. Share the summary or a PDF with everyone afterwards.
Is the summary always right?
No. Apple Intelligence writes it on your iPhone, and it can make mistakes. That's why each point shows the time it came up: tap it and listen before you send the notes round.
Where do the recordings go?
Nowhere, unless you export or share them. Quern has no server and no account. They're in your iPhone's iCloud or computer backup if those are on, like the rest of your data. The privacy policy has the detail.
