Search your meetings
Find what was said, in any meeting.
Ask a question and Quern finds the moments across all your recordings where it came up: the exact words, who said them and when. Play the moment, or open the recording right there. It all happens on your iPhone.
Free for 30 days, then £19.99 once. No subscription. Requires iPhone 15 Pro or later.
The questions you'd ask a colleague.
The ones that usually mean scrolling back through weeks of notes, or asking whoever was there.
- When did we decide?
- "When did we decide to drop Android?" finds the meeting and the minute, and plays the decision being made.
- How did it change?
- "How did the crash rate change?" lists each time it came up. Switch to oldest first and it reads as a timeline.
- Who agreed to what?
- "What did Tom agree to do?" finds his promises, and People lists every action he took on, from every meeting.
- Did anyone mention it?
- If no recording mentions the name you asked about, Quern says so plainly, rather than showing the nearest thing.
Quotes, not answers.
Cloud notetakers answer questions about your meetings with a chatbot on their servers. Quern shows you where it was said instead, and does it on the iPhone.
Words and meaning
Quern matches your question's words, and their meaning, against every exchange in every recording: a question together with the answer that followed it. So a question worded differently from the meeting can still find the moment.
Nothing made up
Every moment is the transcript as it was written down, with the speaker's name and the time. With Apple Intelligence on, the model suggests other words to look for, and that's all it does: nothing it writes is ever shown.
People, across meetings
Everyone named in your recordings, with the actions they took on and the decisions they spoke in, newest first. Tap one to hear it said.
Kept on the iPhone
The search index lives on your iPhone, left out of iCloud and computer backups, and is rebuilt whenever a recording changes. Rename a speaker or fix a word, and search follows.
What it won't do.
- It won't write you an answer or a summary of several meetings. It shows where things were said.
- It won't add up figures or reason across meetings for you. It finds the moments; you draw the conclusion.
- It won't search a recording before its transcript is finished, and it can't hear what the transcript missed.
- It won't search anyone else's recordings. There's no shared team workspace; it's the recordings on your iPhone.
Questions
Anything else: support, or [email protected]
Is it a chatbot?
No. It doesn't write an answer. It shows the moments where your question came up, in the words people used, with who said them and when. On-device models still get too many answers wrong to be trusted with your meetings, and a quote you can play is something you can check.
Does anything get uploaded?
No. Quern keeps a search index of your recordings' words on the iPhone, left out of iCloud and computer backups, and rebuilds it from your recordings whenever they change. It works in Aeroplane Mode. The privacy policy has the detail.
Does it need Apple Intelligence?
Search works without it. With Apple Intelligence on, Quern also asks the on-device model for other words an answer might use, which helps with questions worded differently from the meeting. Those words only change the order of the moments; nothing the model writes is shown.
What if it misheard something?
The moments show the transcript as it is, mishearings included, and each one plays the audio so you can hear what was really said. Fix a misheard name once and every search after that finds it.
How many recordings does it need?
Two or more. With one, the ordinary search already covers it. Ask a question, or type three words or more, and Moments appears above the recordings.
What does it cost?
Nothing extra: it's part of Quern. Free for 30 days, then £19.99 once, with no subscription. It needs iPhone 15 Pro or later.
